Jerry N. Estes is owner and founder of the firm. Jerry has been a licensed practicing attorney in Tennessee and federal courts since 1976. He began practice doing title work and his clients included The Liberty Bank, the City of Niota, and the McMinn County Board of Education. His professional background covers most areas of general practice, and he served for 24 years as the elected District Attorney General of a four county Tennessee district. His varied experiences include being the lead trial attorney in some of the most technical, complex, and high profile litigation in the area. Connie Landers is the firm's Office Manager. In this position she is the closing agent for closings that include cash, in-house mortgages, secondary market lending, VA and Fannie Mae. She works closely with lenders, Realtors, surveyors, exterminators and insurance agents in southeast Tennessee to obtain information for closings and 1031 exchanges. Connie gathers initial documentation including ordering title work, surveys, termite reports, and verification of hazard insurance; and reviews surveys for encroachments and restriction violations. Connie works closely with our staff in document preparation of title documentation, title insurance, attorney title opinion letters, warranty deeds, trust deeds, quitclaim deeds, heirship affidavits, or other documents that may be necessary for a clear title. She schedules closing dates, closes and makes disbursements among buyer/seller/agent/lender, prepares lenders and owners title insurance policies, and then scans and disburses original documents to the appropriate parties. Her duties include responsibility for operating, escrow and trust accounts, their reconciliation and day to day general office operations.

Connie brings with her knowledge and experience in the title business from throughout southeast Tennessee. Connie's mother, Peggy Pearman, was one of the first women to hold public office in Tennessee and served many years in the Register of Deeds Office, where her aunt also served 3 terms. With cutting edge foresight, her mother formed Pearman Abstract Company in the mid-1950s and continued in that business until retiring at age 82. Connie grew up in this environment and began working in her mother's company as a teenager. She graduated from Tennessee Technology Center, worked eight years in the Register of Deeds Office and has 24 years title company experience. Her duties have included working as closing agent, general bookkeeper and office manager of a title company.

Pat Kerr serves as Legal Assistant for the firm. Her duties include legal document preparation for a host of legal services offered by the firm including closings, deeds, real property documents, wills, trusts, probate, guardianships, conservatorships, leases, contracts, liens, powers of attorney, lawsuit complaints and petitions, motions, court pleadings and any other documents necessary to service the needs of our clients. Pat uses her technological skills with Wordstar and Softpro systems to insure that proper forms and files are developed, scanned and maintained. In addition to overseeing document preparation, Pat serves as closing agent for all types of closings and works closely with parties in gathering necessary closing information, review of title work for necessary documentation, scheduling, closing and disbursement in real estate closings. She prepares lenders and owners title insurance policies on closings performed by our office and distributes original deeds to the appropriate parties. Pat's duties include responsibilities for the firm's escrow accounts, reconciliations and deposits.

Pat has an extensive and varied background in the legal field. A graduate of Knoxville Business College, she has five years experience working for a bank, and over 16 years as a legal secretary for two different law firms. Additionally, Pat has 16 years experience with a title company in working with parties, gathering information, ordering work, reviewing data, preparing title insurance polices, preparing necessary legal documents and serving as closing agent for all types of loans and closings.
